Week Three of My 90 Day Workout Journey
It’s week three of my 90 day workout journey. Twenty one days down and sixty nine to go. So I had an epiphany the other day at the gym. I picked up two dumbbells, one in each hand. And I walked around the gym a little bit. These two dumbbells were the equivalent of the amount of weight I have currently lost.
As I moved around carrying this weight in my hands it opened my eyes to how hard my body must have been working just for me to go about my day, not even including any kind of exercise. And how hard it is still working as I have not yet reached my goal weight.
I think we sometimes take our bodies for granted and we forget to give it the respect it deserves. Now that I have been making a conscious effort to take care of my body on both the inside and outside, I am amazed at how little it really takes to be healthy if you put your mind to it. Good food and movement are all you really need.
I definitely got moving this week.
And speaking of movement……..I definitely got moving this week. I took two, hour long boxing classes and did a lot of weight lifting as well. In one of my boxing classes, I had to run with a medicine ball. Now usually I do not run as I have a bad right knee from a childhood injury. The instructor gives me a different exercise to do while rest the group runs. But today I decided to give it a go.
I didn’t finish first or even second or third. In fact, I came in dead last. But everyone was very encouraging and it felt good that I had at least given it a go. Stepping outside of my comfort zone is something I have to been trying to do more and more lately. It’s not always easy but it is always rewarding. I try to never let fear control me or the things that I do. And I face my fears whenever the opportunity presents itself.
What did I eat this week?
I mixed up my meat selection this week. Ribeye, hamburger, pork chops, pork belly, and some salmon. Added spinach to two meals and only had cheese at one meal. I also had avocado at two meals and green chile at two meals as well. Stepped up my veg intake just a bit but continued to eat mostly carnivore.
I’d say that I did OMAD about half the time and the rest of the time I ate when I was hungry. I am still doing all of my workouts fasted except for either some black coffee or Matcha tea.
